Five Star General Patton

Deb & Patton - How It All Started

Patton was my first dog.  I had never been to a field trial before and was totally unaware of how that dog would change my life.

I was a new mom and thought that training my new pup one day a week would be a fun hobby.  Little did I know that one talented puppy could keep me busy for the next 25 years.  Patton was a very smart, happy puppy.  He loved to learn and train and we were very fortunate to live in an area where some of the country’s finest field trial trainers resided.  We ran some derbies and made the derby list, and he was QAA at 22 months.   Patton was trained and loved by Mike Lardy, and when Mike said he was ready, we started his career.  Patton earned his FC, AFC, and NFC all in one year, and he and I went on to win a Double Header right here at home in Wisconsin.  Mary was there to watch every series, and we all celebrated at Culvers with a cheeseburger for Patton.

Patton and I traveled to many trials, trained at some of the most beautiful places in this country, and had the thrill of running many Nationals. The memories of those times he and I shared are amazing.

While I will never have another dog as spectacular as my Patton was, I am very blessed to have a house full of his offspring.  With Mary’s guidance, we have and will continue to produce many Patton puppies for hunters, families and competitors to enjoy.
